Mobil 1 Rally Championship[a] is a rally video game which is part of the Rally Championship series. It is a sequel to International Rally Championship (1997). The game was released for Windows in 1999. PC version was developed by Magnetic Fields and Creative Asylum and published by Actualize (formerly known as Europress). PlayStation version was developed by Atod and HotGen Studios and published by Electronic Arts. The Windows version is notable for stages based on real-life Ordnance Survey and Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland maps. A sequel, Rally Championship Xtreme, was released in 2001.

(full name: Mobil 1 British Rally Championship) Rally simulator from 1999 by Magnetic Fields. The game features 36 full-length rally stages and 22 cars from classes A5 to A8. The co-drivers are Derek Ringer and Claire Mole. Voice commentary is provided by Tony Mason.

Run RAL.EXE off the CD without admin privileges and install the game to a non-restricted location (i.e. not C:\, C:\Program Files\, etc) - install to something like D:\Games\Rally2000\.

If you end up getting 'Button 137' when assigning controls, reinstall the game, download the Rally Championship 2000 Patch 6 and retry configuring. Alternately, download the game from a different source: search for 'Rally 2000' on your favorite torrent search engine and pick the 'PC FR' one.

Problem with multi-core CPUs. One-time solution is to start the Windows Task Manager and set RAL.EXE's process affinity to only one core every time after you start the game. A more permanent solution is to download the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit and install the SingleProcAffinity shim for RAL.EXE.

That's how the game plays. If you want to try making the handling less (or more) sticky, or increase the damage multiplier, see the PHYSICS.TXT file in your game folder. If you don't have the file there, the game is probably not patched for physics editing, in which case download the Rally Championship 2000 Patch 6

If its an older game you are playing and you are running Windows 7 or Windows 8 it may not work, if you right click the .exe file and choose Properties and then Compatibility you can change this to run in Windows 98/ Windows 2000 etc. You can find more information on the Beginners Help page here

This is one of the later entries in a series that began with Network Q RAC Rally and actually turns out to be a pretty decent little driving game that provides plenty of fast paced thrills. It's very detailed and realistic and offers all the track and car variety that fans demand, so if you're on the lookout for a new rally game, this could be your next best friend. There aren't many real surprises here but what is on offer is well done, with a wealth of options to choose from. There are over thirty tracks to speed around, all of which have been mapped from the real British tracks so this is going to feel as close to the real thing as you can get with late nineties technology. You also have more than twenty cars to try out, which have again been modeled on the vehicles that would have been around at the time. There's the usual array of options and race types to play about with but that's about it really. As far as rally games go, this is just about as good as it gets, with only a couple of minor issues in the way of near perfection. The range of tracks is extensive and varied, with some real challenges to be found here, and which are exciting and fun to race on. The visuals are pretty much spot on, with the right sense of speed and detail in the track backgrounds, while the audio is simple enough but certainly effective. The controls have the right learning curve to them, so it takes a while
